To unhide columns A and B in Excel:
-
Select the first visible column next to the hidden ones. In this case, select column C.
-
Move your cursor to the column header area where columns are labeled. Right-click on the header of column C.
-
From the context menu, choose Unhide. Columns A and B will now be visible.
Alternative Method Using the Ribbon
-
Select column C.
-
Go to the Home tab on the Ribbon.
-
In the Cells group, click Format.
-
Under Visibility, select Hide & Unhide, then click Unhide Columns.
Using Keyboard Shortcuts
-
On Windows, select column C and press Ctrl + Shift + 0 to unhide the hidden columns to the left.
-
On Mac, Excel does not support Ctrl + Shift + 0. Use the right-click method or the Ribbon method.
Important Notes
-
Columns cannot unhide if the worksheet is protected. Check Review → Unprotect Sheet if the option is unavailable.
-
If multiple columns are hidden, selecting the columns before and after the hidden ones ensures all hidden columns in that range become visible.
This process guarantees that any hidden columns, including A and B, are restored for viewing and editing.
