Finding the binomial probability

Example:

A hybrid seed grower is experiencing trouble

with corn borer. A random check of 5000 ears

revealed the following: Many of the ears

contained no borer; some ears contained one

borer; a few had two borers; and so on. The

distribution of the number of borers per ear

approximate a poisson distribution. The grower

counted 3500 borers in the 5000 ears.

What is the probability that an ear f corn

selected at random will contain no borers?
